This projects was one born out of a love for running, circumstance and pure joy!
Running late are one of the many local run clubs to me - and maybe the coolest... certainly with the nicest people.
This was a film to celebrate their innaugural Beer Mile - which is now an annual event. The event was sponsored by and co-run with HOKA and also sponsored by Athletic Brewing.
DIR: Graham Bradshaw
DOP: Adam Prosser
EDIT: Josh Buckler
For me it's always key to capture the human moments in anything. It doesn't always have to have a human in the shot itself but that often helps... really what I mean is the connection we have, the shorthand. Shots like Becca jumping for joy as her team cross the finish line and win the event speak for themselves. Our jobs are done well, when they go a little more un-noticed in the final project
The opportunity to create these looks was very fun! This was a 6 camera shoot, so between Adam (The DOP) and myself, we were busy boys!
With this project being with a sports GIANT brand like HOKA we had to spend extra time showcasing that - shots like the marquee and the branding around the event allowed us that - but taking some extra care to show this helped make sure all clients were as buzzing as we were with the final outcome of the film.
BELOW is the final film for the event - it's all about fun and community. Mixed media with some DV footage. Stills and animation. Mixture of frame rates.
I always say with 'events', people don't want to see the event, they want to remember it. So creating a memory is important. I feel when we think of our fondest memories, we see them in a style with their own energy and that's exactly what we tried to do with this social film.
